RV Dishwasher Install

RV Dishwasher Install

Brandy asked one night if installing a dishwasher was possible. Our 2011 Keystone Alpine was not originally offered with a dishwasher option. So, I got to looking at our kitchen to see if it were easily possible, and it was. There is a double door cabinet under the kitchen island that isn’t fully used because of where Keystone ran the kitchen gray tank drain and vent. I looked in the cabinet, and the three things required for a dishwasher…

Composting Toilet

Composting Toilet

Full write up coming soon! Our black tank developed a leak. While I was able to repair it, I still wanted the tank replaced. The lowest estimate I could find was $1300, which led me to look for alternate ideas. After many hours of Googling and YouTubing, I decided to install a composting toilet. We chose the Nature’s Head brand, because there are so many positive reviews form other full timers. The toilet costs a bit over $900, so I…

1280 Watts of Solar Install

1280 Watts of Solar Install

My 1280 watt solar setup: (When 1st hooked up at 3 pm) The Panels (pics below): Each panel is 320 watts, for a total output of 1280 watts. Third, you have…

Our Lifted Fifth Wheel

Our Lifted Fifth Wheel

We had the 2000 Ford F250 before we bought the trailer, and the trailer wasn’t even in our minds yet.  The truck came with an 8″ lift on 37″ tires. It rides pretty high, and the standard height of a fifth wheel trailer would not suffice.  Without a trailer lift, the RV would still clear the truck bed rails easily, but the trailer angled down from front to back.  This places more weight on the rear axle of the 5’er,…

Washer/Dryer

Washer/Dryer

Being full timers in our RV, we really wanted to have a washer/dryer installed.  Laundromats are fine, but for us, it makes it feel more like home when you can hear/see the machine running.  I’m not sure why that makes a big difference, but it does. We went with the Splendide 2100XC.  We debated on a stackable unit, but decided on the combo washer/dryer.  The stackable’s advantage is that you can wash and dry at the same time, roughly cutting…
